care sheet for Nesaea triflora, also known as Three-flowered Nesaea:

  • Lighting: Nesaea triflora requires moderate to high lighting. A minimum of 2 watts per gallon of light is recommended for this plant to grow well. If grown under low lighting conditions, it will grow tall and leggy.

  • CO2 and fertilization: Nesaea triflora requires a moderate to high level of CO2 and nutrients. Regular fertilization with a liquid or substrate fertilizer is recommended. A complete fertilizer with trace elements is recommended. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer label for dosing.

  • Water parameters: Nesaea triflora prefers slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH between 6.0-7.5. It also requires a moderate to high level of hardness and a moderate to high level of carbon dioxide.

  • Water circulation: This plant requires good water circulation to thrive. Use a powerhead or a filter to create water movement in the tank.

  • Substrate: A nutrient-rich substrate such as aquasoil or a layer of fertilizer underneath the gravel is recommended for this plant to thrive.

  • Temperature: This plant prefers temperatures between 68-82°F (20-28°C). It can tolerate slightly lower or higher temperatures, but not below 60°F (15°C) or above 86°F (30°C).

  • Pruning: Regular pruning is necessary to keep this plant from overtaking the aquarium. Trim the tops of the stems to encourage bushy growth and prevent it from growing too tall.

  • Propagation: Nesaea triflora can be propagated by stem cuttings. Simply cut a healthy stem and replant it in the substrate. New roots and shoots will form in a few weeks.

By following these care instructions, your Nesaea triflora should thrive and add a beautiful touch to your aquarium.
