Why do we offer this plant in soil? 
Our research here at our facility reveals that plants previously grown in soil adapt more quickly to aquatic environments compared to those cultivated in regular rockwool pots. We attribute this to the closer resemblance to their natural evolutionary conditions.
 
What's the alternative to soil-planted plants? 
The standard option is plants potted in rockwool, commonly available at your local aquatic store. 
Additionally, during the summer months, we also provide submerged plants for most species.

Feeding: Cryptocoryne wendtii 'brown' can obtain nutrients from the substrate and water column, but additional supplementation with liquid or root fertilizers can promote growth and coloration.
Tankmates: Cryptocoryne wendtii 'brown' is generally peaceful and can coexist with most fish, invertebrates, and other aquatic plants. Avoid aggressive fish species or those known to uproot plants.
Maintenance:
Plant the rhizome in the substrate with the roots buried and the leaves above the substrate.

Special Considerations:
Cryptocoryne wendtii 'brown' is a hardy and adaptable plant, but it may take some time to acclimate to new tank conditions. Be patient and avoid making frequent changes to the tank environment.
This plant can tolerate lower light conditions but may exhibit slower growth and less intense coloration compared to higher light conditions.
Cryptocoryne wendtii 'brown' may melt, or shed old leaves, when introduced to a new tank. This is normal and new growth should emerge shortly after.

This Crypt can tolerate a lot of variation in water quality, lighting, flow and nutrients. But CONSISTENCY is very important, so don’t make big changes very fast. DRASTIC Changes could lead to melting of the leaves and sometimes of the whole plant. So take your time when you plan changes and do it slow, all your aquarium inhabitants will appreciate it.
 
Some notes:
Cryptocoryne prefer not to be moved once planted. If possible, do not move them!
Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
Please be sure to remove this plant from its pot AND remove the cotton surrounding the roots, then plant your plant into the substrate.
LEAF melting initially, is normal when you plant them, new adjusted leaves will soon form. Be patient. As long as your roots are healthy you are OK.
Hardy species can be planted in inert soil like cilice sand but then experts say, you need to add some root tablets for the best growth.
In an experiment (starting 2011) I took Cryptocoryne wendtii and planted it in a low light, low flow, low bio mass aquarium without root tabs or extra plant food. I left them there and only fed the fish. Today 2021 these crypt’s are still in that aquarium and still ok, but they never thrived. This was just to see what the minimum survival possibility was and I found out that these Crypt’s are very hardy. NOW I am not saying all Crypt’s would have survived but I can honestly say most Crypt’s need you to make massive mistakes to kill them.
