This Vallis is one of the 3 diffrent vallis we stock that have a twist in the leaf's

 

This vallis have a compact growth form with finer leaf's and twists that grow to 30cm in our facility. While the normal spiraling vallis - Vallis americana - grow to 1m in our facility.

Vallisneria Contortionist:

Leaf Shape: Vallisneria contortionist is recognized for its distinctive contorted leaves, which give it a unique and eye-catching appearance. The leaves are narrow, twisted, and may have a spiral-like twist.

Size: Typically, Vallisneria contortionist stays relatively compact compared to other Vallisneria species. The plant can reach a moderate height, making it suitable for smaller to medium-sized aquariums.

Growth Pattern: The contorted leaves add a dynamic element to the aquarium, making it an attractive choice for aquascaping

 

 

Caring for Vallisneria Contortionist and Vallisneria Torta:

  • Lighting: Both varieties benefit from moderate to high-intensity lighting for optimal growth and vibrancy.
  • Substrate: Plant them in a nutrient-rich substrate to support root development.
  • Propagation: Vallisneria species, including contortionist and torta, can be propagated by separating and replanting runners with new plantlets.
  •

Note that all vallis is intolerant of liquid carbon and can melt if dosing it at the same time as growing this plant.
 

 

***PLEASE NOTE - VALL when transported for periods greater than 12 hours can begin to brown slightly, particularly on the outer leaves. This is normal and removing those leaves upon receiving your plants tends to speed up new growth with no damage to the plant as a whole.
