Most species that fall into the category of "epiphyte " are very robust and undemanding aquatic plants, which also get along with low light and little nutrients. Well 1st let me explain what AABBC stand for - A – Anubias A – Amazon swords B – Buce B – Bolbitis C – Cryptocoryne J - Java fern types When I think of - EASY HARDY – Handling mistakes BEGINNER NO CO2 – although it will enhance your plants growth significantly, it is not essential. NO AQUASOIL – although it will enhance your plants growth significantly, it is not essential. NO EXPENSIVE LIGHTING Then these 6 plant species is on top of my list! As an aquatic hobbyists with over 30 years of experience, I grew up with Anubias, Amazon swords, Bolbitis, Crypt’s and Java ferns (Buce came much later) and although they were difficult to find, these plants thrived in our aquariums without today’s technology.
