A freshwater aquarium containing stem plants

LOW LIGHT

These plants will not have you forking over a lot on expensive lights that will provide very bright, crisp light. These plants thrive in low light environments and work great at the bottom of a really deep tank. But this does not mean no light, remember all plants photosynthesise and therefore do need light. Low light mean at least light that’s bright enough for them to  photosynthesise – that mean at least 2 t5 lights per 300mm width and depth, for them to grow, should you go wider or deeper you will need more light. = my personal recommendation.
Light preference does not impact other water parameters or needs. Be sure to meet the plants other needs.
Shadows in an aquarium with more light, created by décor and other plants is also low light. So these plants can be utilised in every planted aquarium
