Introducing Our Venus Flytraps! 🌱🦟✨
Our Venus Flytraps are out of the lab, meaning they’re not yet the full-sized beauties you might be used to seeing. Instead of classifying them by leaf size, we sort them mainly by rhizome size—the underground heart of the plant that determines its future growth.📸

Care Sheet for Dionaea muscipula "Ramesse" (Venus Flytrap)

Dionaea muscipula "Ramesse" is a striking Venus Flytrap cultivar known for its large, robust traps and vibrant red coloration. Proper care ensures it grows healthy and produces its characteristic fast-snapping traps.

Light Requirements:
Provide your "Ramesse" with at least 4–6 hours of direct sunlight daily. A south-facing window or outdoor area with bright sunlight is ideal to bring out its vivid red trap color.

Temperature:
Maintain moderate daytime temperatures of 65°F–80°F (18°C–27°C). Nights can be slightly cooler, but avoid frost or extreme heat.

Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Use distilled, rain, or purified water to prevent mineral buildup. Water from below using a tray so the plant absorbs water through its roots.

Soil:
Plant in a well-draining, acidic mix of sphagnum peat moss and perlite or silica sand. Avoid standard potting soil with added nutrients.

Potting:
Use a shallow container with drainage holes. Venus Flytrap roots are shallow, so deep pots aren’t necessary. Repot only if the plant outgrows its container.

Feeding:
As a carnivorous plant, "Ramesse" naturally catches insects. Allow it to hunt on its own. Manual feeding is optional but not necessary for health.

Humidity:

Average indoor humidity is fine, but higher humidity helps. If air is dry, place a tray of water with pebbles beneath the pot (ensure the pot isn’t sitting directly in water).

Pruning:
Trim dead or decaying leaves or traps to maintain plant health and appearance. New leaves are continuously produced.

Winter Care:
Reduce watering slightly and protect from drafts. Venus Flytraps require a dormancy period during winter (cooler temperatures around 40°F–50°F / 4°C–10°C). Trap production will slow.

Pest Control:
Watch for aphids, spider mites, and fungus gnats. Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or neem oil following manufacturer instructions.

By following these guidelines, your Dionaea muscipula "Ramesse" will grow into a healthy, vigorous, and visually striking carnivorous plant ready to impress and catch its prey! 🦟🌱
